Linda Faye Wyrick died Monday, July 26, 2010, in Bayfield, Colo., following a 15-month battle with cancer. She was 61.
Linda was born June 25, 1949, in Price, Utah, the daughter of Burl and Hazel Watson. Following graduation from Longmont High School, Longmont, Colo., in 1967, she attended cosmetology school. She married Gary Wyrick December 1, 1973, also in Longmont.
Linda loved being with children and worked as a school bus driver in Bayfield. She enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Durango.
She is predeceased by her father Burl Watson, brother Eddie Watson, and sister Joyce Stotts. She is survived by husband Gary Wyrick and daughters Casey Gottfried and Carrie Forsythe, all of Bayfield; mother Hazel Cline of Durango; brother Larry Watson of Kileen, Texas; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Durango.
