Lifetime Durango resident Michael Richard Brennan died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, in Durango. He was 72.

Michael was born January 15, 1938, in Durango, the son of Francis and Helen Brennan. He graduated from Durango High School in 1955 and later attended trade school in Los Angeles. He and his wife Maureen were married in 1958 in Durango and had been married for 52 years at the time of his death. He did electrical work for 20 years and previously owned Quality Appliance and Repair.

Michael was a member of Jaycees and Jaycee Whistlers. He loved fishing, woodworking and playing with his favorite dog. He liked to cook, grill and smoke meats -- especially ribs – and even mixed up his own special rub for the meat.

He is survived by his wife Maureen of Durango, children Lori Moore of Mesa, Ariz.; Mike Brennan of Rocky Point, N.Y.; and Steve Brennan of Mesa, Ariz.; brother E.C,. Brennan of Durango; sister Catherine Conrad of Bayfield, Colo.; four granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Hood Mortuary Chapel.
